Who We Are and What We Do

We started this organization because our son, Ej, liked to hand out things... food, money, a smile and a wave to the homeless men and women he sees on our way to and from his school in Hartford. He had my husband take a 20 minute detour on and off the highway to give his banana to a man by the entrance ramp on Capitol Ave! (Lovely man that he is, he complied with a smile because he knows how important it was to Ej.) One day on the way home from school, we saw a homeless man and he had on a hat that was similar to his Pop's (my father) and when I told him that many of the homeless people we see are Vets, like Pop, his mouth dropped open. "They could be his friends." He was quiet for awhile, soaking this information in. In typical little kid fashion he said "that's not fair." I agreed, it was not.
We talked about things we can do to help them and the idea of a group that involved our friends and family and making care packages for the people we came across in our day to day was his first idea. We have connected with two shelters, Columbus House in West Haven and South Park Inn located in Hartford to help them help others...in any way we can. So here we are. Thank you for coming to check out our group and please donate to help us Help a Veteran Everyday!

Creating Awareness Respect and Empathy

There are a plethora of issues facing our Veterans today, our mission is to try and help with as many of them as possible, by assisting other organizations in their efforts on behalf of our Vets, and by doing what we can to directly and positively effect the lives of the Veterans in our community.

"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, What are you doing for others?"
